The hunt for some of the city’s most talented youngsters begins this weekend.
Annual talent show Genfactor is back and is set to be even bigger and better than before.
Organised by Gentoo and now in its tenth year, Genfactor is looking for singers, bands, dance acts, magicians, musicians and comedians aged 11-18 who live or attend school or college in Sunderland.
If you think you’ve got the Genfactor then this could be your chance to shine and win £500.
The talent contest is designed to give young people the opportunity to showcase their talents. By taking part they learn new skills, meet new people and gain confidence by performing in front of a live audience.
Michelle Meldrum, executive director (Operations), Gentoo said: “We’re delighted to celebrate Genfactor’s tenth year. Since its launch, we have seen so many incredibly talented performers.
“It’s great to watch young people’s confidence grow and what many of them have gone on to achieve, and we are so proud of everyone who has entered Genfactor. Thanks to the talented young people in our city for making Genfactor the brilliant event that it is. I hope the competition continues to inspire future generations and opens up new opportunities for young people in Sunderland.”
This year’s talented acts will perform in front of up to 1,000 people at Rainton Meadows Arena with judges deciding who will be crowned the Genfactor 2019 winner.
