Dennis build on heritage

Have your say

DENNIS play their launch party on July 15 at the Royalty, Chester Road, Sunderland, hoping to kick start a run of local and national gigs.

Having played Newcastle over the past few months, the Hetton band are keen to play a little closer to home.

They have built upon their ‘pit village’ heritage, utilising their connections with Hetton and Houghton Brass Band to create an indie/folk sound which has been compared with Belle and Sebastian and Arcade Fire.

They hope to create a nostalgic atmosphere on the night with a “badly organised raffle”, with prizes ranging from a meat tray, to a carriage clock.

The band will also be handing out free demos and Dennis pin badges. They will be supported by Rover, with doors opening at 8pm.
