FRESH from his success on Popstar to Operastar, Joe McElderry has announced a triumphant homecoming to the North East.
South Shields lad Joe rose to fame when he won the sixth series of The X Factor in 2009.
A number one single followed and his debut album, Wide Awake, cemented his place in the heart of the British public.
So much so, that, even after being ditched by Simon Cowell’s record label, he went on to become the winner of this year’s Popstar to Operastar, receiving 80 per cent of the votes in the final.
Now signed to Universal Music, to celebrate the release of his second album, Classic, Joe is gearing up to embark on a nationwide tour.
The Classic tour will present a snapshot of Joe’s music career to date.
Fans can expect a selection of songs from his albums, his X Factor, Popstar and Operastar appearances and a range of other songs.
Regional dates in November include Newcastle City Hall on the 17th and Middlesbrough Town Hall on the 18th. Tickets are on sale now.
