CITY promoter Independent Live have lined-up Radio 1 DJ, Kissy Sell Out, to play Sunderland University Student Union’s North Shore venue, formerly The Manor Quay, tonight.

Often described as the stable of the east London electro scene, Kissy Sell Out is arguably one of the UK’s most commercially-successful DJs.

Quickly gaining critical acclaim in 2006 for his energetic DJ style and his outlandish electro productions, Kissy was described as “one of the most exciting, charismatic and entertaining DJs of the decade” by Mixmag in 2009.

Kissy has also been hosting his own late night show, Kissy Klub, on BBC Radio 1 since 2008, which showcases his infamous Kissy Klub Versions – unofficial remixes created by Kissy specifically for the show.

June of this year saw the release of second album, Wild Romance, on his independent label San City High.

The album has received praise from the industry with Megamind magazine describing it as a “coming of age” for the master producer.

Joining Kissy on stage is MC Cobra, who has developed an original style which has gained him fans as far afield as Ayia Napa, where he gained residency in some of the top bar and clubs in 2002.

Recently he has performed at the likes of Brixon Academy and The Ministry of Sound in London.
