BRITAIN’S Got Talent winners Collabro are going Stateside after signing an American recording contract.
The classical boyband has clinched a £1m deal with Sony Masterworks.
The group – made up of Jamie Lambert, Richard Hadfield, Michael Auger, Matt Pagan and Thomas J Redgrave – stormed to victory on the ITV talent show last year and have since enjoyed a No.1 album with Stars and a sell-out tour.
Jamie, who hails from Washington and was once a regular on the South Tyneside singing circuit, said: “It’s come off the back of the success of our first album really. Our management and Syco have been in talks with Sony Masterworks and now it’s going ahead.
“We’re so excited about it. We’ve got quite a good fan base in American already so we can’t wait to go over there.
“It’s absolutely crazy that this has all happened in a year. We never thought we’d make it in England, never mind in America.”
The Collabro boys are set to release their second album, Act Two, on June 1.
Like Stars, it will include covers of musical theatre songs and pop crossovers.
Collabro will also be performing live at Bents Park, in South Shields, on August 2, alongside South Tyneside X Factor stars Joe McElderry and Lola Saunders.
Jamie, 24, added: “The new album is going to be great and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

“We’re very excited for the gig at Bents Park too. I supported Gareth Gates and Stacey Solomon there in 2010.
“I loved it then so I can’t wait to get back with Collabro. It’s a great local line-up too so it should be a brilliant show.
“We’re off to Japan on Saturday for 10 days to promote our new album too and we’re really excited to get to travel to all these amazing places.”
