A DISTINCTIVE blend of captivating melodies, huge drumming, tight guitar work and inventive bass lines have ensured that South Shields-based Bright Lights are making a name for themselves.

From their humble beginnings cramped in to a small practice room, the band have went on to play a string of successful live shows at established venues such as the o2 Academy Newcastle and playing at Newcastle’s Evolution Festival.

Combining a range of influences such as Twin Atlantic, Circa Survive, Thrice and Lower than Atlantis, Bright Lights recorded a well-received demo, leading to airplay on BBC Radio Newcastle, and now have their debut E.P (You’ll Never Know) ready to be self-released in October.

•The band will play the Dog & Parrot in Newcastle on September 29.

•You’ll Never Know will be released on October 7 and will be available from the band’s website
