County Durham-born Scarlett, who rose to fame with her family on Gogglebox, was at the Angel Snow Ball at the Roker Hotel, which was organised by Andrew Bennett who is part of one of the new families on the hit Channel 4 show.

Scarlett, who won I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here in 2016, was involved in the launch of The Angel Trust charity earlier this year in a bid to help a range of projects and individuals from across her home region.

The Sunderland event helped to raise £7,000 for the cause. Guests at the ball enjoyed the red carpet treatment, as well as a four-course meal and live music and dance performances.

Money was raised though an auction for prizes including a day with chef Jean-Christophe Novelli and an overnight stay in a five star Raffles hotel.

Andrew, from Springwell, in Sunderland, said: “What a spectacular night it turned out to be. The guests made a real effort and the room was filled with glitz and glamour. There was a wonderful atmosphere and we believe we have raised £7,000 with donations and funds still coming in for the cause.”

The event proved such a success that Andrew, who appears on the current series of Gogglebox with friend Fawn and dog Otis, is hoping to organise an Angel Spring Ball.

The Angel Trust charity was formed to help people living in County Durham and Darlington. It aims to support people financially to help enhance communities and promote good citizenship.
