Review: Project X (18)

Have your say

NOT to be confused with the iconic 1987 film of the same title starring a fresh-faced Matthew Broderick, Project X is a raucous, adult-oriented comedy about a house party that descends into chaos.

Stylised as home video footage, Nima Nourizadeh’s film centres on teenagers Costa (Oliver Cooper) and JB (Jonathan Daniel Brown), who decide to throw an epic shindig for their mate Thomas (Thomas Mann).

All three lads are self-confessed losers, but they hope that one night of alcohol-fuelled debauchery could cement their popularity with schoolmates.

They plan to document the momentous night using a handheld video camera.

While Thomas wrestles with his attraction to Kirby (Kirby Bliss Blanton), events gradually spiral out of control, and the police are called, leaving all three lads to face the music in the cold light of the morning.
