A national dessert house which prides itself on its super-size sundaes is hoping to whip up interest when it opens in Sunderland.
Billing themselves as the ‘King of Desserts,’ Kaspa’s Desserts is taking over the former Bentinck furniture store in High Street West.
The opening marks the successful gelato and dessert house’s ambitions to gain a foothold in the North East after opening a branch in Newcastle last year.
Specialising in Amercian-style waffles, crepes, sundaes, milkshakes, gelato ice cream and cakes, the chain already has a number of successful branches in London, the Midlands and South West.
The company, which opened its first dessert house in London in 2010, describes itself as “a chain of exciting new dessert houses that offer the world’s favourite hot and cold desserts under one roof. Our menu boasts a mouthwatering selection of ice creams, gelatos, waffles, crepes, milkshakes, smoothies and sundaes.
“Our products are non genetically-modified, suitable for vegetarians, handmade and imported from the heart of Italy, with no artificial preservatives.”
