East Durham College students were treated to a workshop by an award-winning poet, as she toured the region.

TS Elliot award winner Sinead Morrissey visited English A-level students at the college’s Peterlee campus, talking to ED6 students about her career.

Sinead, who is this year’s Durham Book Festival Laureate, talked to students about her collection of work, as one of her poems features as part of their course this year.

She also talked to students about the creative and editing process, along with the inspiration behind how she wrote some of her poems.

ED6 English lecturer Lucy Greenwood hailed the afternoon a great success and thanked Sinead for honouring the college with her time.
