The branch in Boldon Leisure Park has undergone a full refurbishment and will reopen on Friday, July 31 with new additions including a Superscreen auditorium, as well as an improved Starbucks.
In a Superscreen auditorium, film fans can supersize their experience with multidimensional Dolby Atmos sound and 4k film projection on a massive wall-to-wall and ceiling high screen (which is taller than a double decker bus at 17m x 7.3m).

The refurbished cinema will also debut a new Starbucks, refurbed standard screens with new seats, and state-of-the-art updates to the foyer and concessions stands where customers can purchase a selection of their favourite movie snacks.
There will be a number of offers available from opening day, including classic film screenings from £5 in standard screening rooms, and less than £9 for the new Superscreen.
Gemma Chrisp, general manager of Cineworld Boldon, said:“We are looking forward to welcoming back cinemagoers to our better than ever, newly refurbished cinema and we are delighted to be adding a stunning Superscreen to our existing offering. With this new addition we can offer the local community the opportunity to experience film like never before.’’
