Thieves steal iPads and laptop in primary school break-in

Two men forced open a window of Yohden Primary School, Peterlee just after midnight on Tuesday, February 2, and reached in to take more than 10 iPads and a docking station.
After filling up their backpacks, they fled from the Windsor Terrace site towards the Coast Road.

Hide AdThen at 3.40am, they returned, with one of the men climbing through the window to take more items, including a laptop, before the pair then ran off towards Seymour Street.
Now Durham Constabulary is urging anyone offered IT kit which may have been taken from the school to get in touch as they appeal for help to track down the thieves and have issued a description of the men.
Pc Ben Slater, of Peterlee CID, said: “Stealing educational devices from a primary school is a particularly low act, and I would urge anybody who is offered an iPad for sale to be wary.
“If you are offered one and are suspicious of the circumstances, please report it to police as soon as possible.”

Hide AdBoth suspects were around 5ft 10in, of slim build, and wore woolly hats with hooded tops and tracksuit bottoms.
One of them also wore a head torch.
The school has been contacted for comment.
Anyone who has information which could help officers investigate the burglary is asked to contact Durham Constabulary on 101, quoting incident number 28 of February 2.
