HOUGHTON were looking to make it three wins from three when they travelled down the coast to play Hartlepool BBOB.
However, BBOB had different ideas, spending the vast majority of the first 30 minutes in Houghton’s half.
A number of penalties from Houghton gave BBOB’s kicker the chance to make it 3-0.
And after putting Houghton’s defence under pressure, BBOB crossed the line to make the score 8-0.
Hougton went on the attack for the last 10 minutes of the half and a number of chances were created, but there was a lack of cutting edge and the chances came and went.
The second half started better for Houghton and they spent more time in the BBOB half.
And the introduction of Steve Winlow and Chris Ham off the bench seemed to spur Houghton on.
And they finally got on the scoreboard through a close range snipe from a quick penalty by Steve Winlow to bring the score to 8-5.
With the BBOB defence commiting more and more penalties there was always going to be another chance for Houghton to draw level, which they did through the boot of Steve Winlow to make the final score an 8-8 draw.
