SEAHAM stormed to a fine 42-15 victory over Seaton Carew in Durham and Northumberland Division Two.
A penalty from Glen Hardie gave the home side the lead before Brad Green crossed for his fifth try of the season.
Hardie’s conversion made it 10-0, but the visitors slotted over a penalty to reduce the deficit.
The hosts were on top though and Jack McCallum worked a clever one-two with Brad Green before crossing under the posts. Hardie added the extras to make it 17-3.
Grant Dixon was then yellow carded for swinging at an opponent, but it was Seaham who scored again when Jon Dye beat three defenders before crossing in the corner.
Seaham led 22-3 at the interval but the visitors soon reduced the arrears with a try in the corner.
However two penalties at the other end soon made it 28-8 and it got even better when Hardie intercepted a pass and ran the length of the field before touching down under the posts for a try he converted.
Seaham kept pressing and were rewarded two minutes from time. McCallum seized a stray pass in midfield and hared 50 metres to touch down for try number five. Hardie’s fourth conversion of the day stretched the score to 42-8.
The visitors did enjoy a late consolation score though when their scrum-half danced his way through several missed tackles before offloading to his open-side flanker, who barged over the line.
H A division above, Sunderland lost 60-7 at home to Alnwick, while Horden were 23-14 winners away to Acklam.
