Durham City ran out good 27-8 winners at Gosforth in Durham/Northumberland Division One on Saturday.

Peter Dent bagged two second-half tries for the dominant Hollow Drift men, following up efforts from Tom Elliott, Chris Metcalfe and Rob Smith.

Horden & Peterlee clinched their first point of the season the same division.

But they were left frustrated by a third straight league loss which sees them rooted to the bottom spot.

The Colliery side collected a losing bonus point in a 21-18 Eden Lane defeat to Guisborough, who made it three wins from three.

Neil Hartley scored a superb individual try and Ben Crake touched down, but the home side will be wondering how they did not come away with a victory.

Andrew Turner added the rest of the Horden points with a conversion and two penalties.
