SUNDERLAND’S dismal start to the season continued with another defeat.

The bottom side in Durham Northumberland One went down 32-12 at home to Ponteland.

That makes it eight defeats out of eight. Sunderland visit fourth top Stockton this Saturday. Second bottom Horden lost 24-8 at league leaders Guisborough.

In Durham Northumberland Two, Seaham crashed 63-3 away to Bishop Auckland.

Houghton, though, had a fine 36-0 win away to Jarrovians.
