Sunderland’s number one Paul Williams was crowned the Knack Premier League Darts champion for the third time after beating top seed Dave Prins in the final.
Williams produced some superb darts to retain his title with a brilliant 10-8 victory on a great night of action.

Williams was in top form as he beat former champion Kevin Guy 8-2 in his quarter-final clash – finishing with a 31-05 per dart average.
He won legs in 14, 16, 13, 15, 16, 16, 19 and 20 darts, with Guy replying in 15 and 17 darts.
Williams’ form continued as he brushed Neil Rose aside with an emphatic 8-1 win in the semi-final.
This time he had best legs in 13, 14 (x2) and 15 darts and also hit four 180s.
In the final, Williams triumphed with legs in 17, 16, 17, 21, 17, 16, 13, 12, 17 and 19 darts and threw another two 180s.
Prins had a superb 12-darter amongst his leg wins, but ultimately came up just short against Williams.
Prins had beaten Geordie Morton in his quarter-final but not without a major scare as Morton led 5-4.
Prins showed his class thought to win the last four legs. Prins three two maximums, with Morton going one better.
The semi-final saw Prins power past Lee Walton 8-1 with winning legs of 19, 21, 18, 19, 12, 15, 13 and 20 darts with three 180s and a 105 finish.
Walton had pulled of a stunning win in his first game as he beat Davey Thompson 8-5, hitting two maximums along the way.
Neil Rose produced his best darts for a while as he shocked the number three seed Kevin Elliott with an 8-4 win in the quarter-finals.
The first nine legs went with the throw before Rose reeled off the last three legs.
Rose hit two maximums and winning legs of 24, 18, 17, 14, 20, 21, 18 and 15 darts while Elliott won three legs in 17 darts each and one in 20 darts.
