IAN Wilkinson produced the result of the night in the Thorney Close Premier League, toppling league leader Marco Laybourn 5-2 to close in on those at the top of the table.
Wilkinson produced a best 19-dart leg with a 108 checkout to help seal the victory.
Steve Richardson, though, was unable to capitalise on Laybourn’s slip, missing his chance to go top by drawing with Tom Davies.
Meanwhile, Steve Dykes kept his good run going with a 5-0 win over Jack Revely that keeps him in fourth spot, his best leg being an 18-darter.
Paul Revely got a much needed win, defeating Steve Carr 5-2, a result which moves him above Tony Richardson and away from the foot of the table.
Richardson threw a 20-darter plus a 180, but it was only good enough for a draw against Andy Lincoln.
In the heavyweight clash at the top of Division One, Denny Cullen consolidated first spot with a narrow 5-3 success against Jamie Scott.
Both players had 20-darters, with Scott firing a 180, but Cullen missed out on further extending his lead at the top after he could only draw with Kristian Summerside in his second match.
Anth Cummings beat Kristian Summerside 5-1, Cummings’ best leg being 21 darts with 88 checkout, but would go on to lose by the same scoreline to Alan Garden later in the night.
Tony Cummings stayed third with a 5-0 win over Paul Wilkinson, while Danny Cullen beat Tony Bryant 5-2, with the latter still bottom of the table.
