Turnbull sees off Johnston

DARREN Johnston lost only his second game of the season in the first division of the Thorney Close leagues.

He went down 5-3 to Shaun Turnbull despite winning one leg in 19 darts and hitting a maximum 180.

Later in the night, Johnston got back to winning ways, scoring 5-2 against Gary Richardson. He hit a 21-dart leg and had a great 132 finish on the bull.

Richardson had earlier beaten Danny Cullen 5-3 in a very close game. He had an 18-darter and had a 118 finish. Cullen’s best was a 21-darter.

Dennis Cullen led 4-2 but Alan Garden hit back for a draw.

Dan Scott beat Jordan Cook 5-1, with his best leg in 17 darts and having a 76 finish.

There were 5-0 wins for Jason Allan against Jordan Cook, and Neil Hardy against Alan Grimes.

In the Premier Division, Chris Bolam got back too winning ways with a 5-1 win over Anth Richardson. He had two 18-darts legs, a 19 and 20-darter, while both players his 180s.

Richardson also lost 5-2 to Andy Lincoln who had three legs in 18 darts and one in 17.

Jack Revely beat Tes Charlesworth 5-3, with his best leg in 17 darts.

Micky Callan beat Anth Cummings 5-1 including 118 and 90 outshots.

Alan Slight and Ian Jarvis played two games each, both players drawing both.

Slight drew with Andy Lincoln and then Jarvis, whose other draw came against Steve Richardson, who had a 14-darter in the final leg.

Lee Rump also played two games, beating Steve Carr 5-1 – including 118 and 95 outshots – and then drawing with Micky Watson, winning the final two legs in 17 and 18 darts, and having 92 and 114 outshots.
