“Steptoe” Vince Loraine kept us his quest for a top-four finish in the Plains Farm Darts League with a clinical display in a 7-1 win over “Taffy” Dean Parker.
Averaging 28 per dart up to the last two legs, Loraine eventually got a much deserved win with 17 (x2), 18 & 20-dart legs.
In a titanic clash at the top of the table, leader Tony Cummings made clear his intentions on securing a second Plains Farm title in a dominant display over second placed Bobby Turnbull, handing “Snake Bite” a crushing 7-0 loss, with winning legs in 18, 19 & 21 (x2) darts.
“Tank” also produced a fine 118 checkout in a very one-sided match.
Scott Anderson kept his outside chances of winning the league alive with another two victories, firstly defeating Anth Charlton 7-1, with winning legs in 19 (x2) & 21 darts, then winning 7-2 against “Jekyl” Stevie Gettins with 19 (x2) & 20 (x2) darts with a 180 for good measure.
Gettins also hit a 20-dart leg, and took out a superb 110 checkout.
Gettins would later gain a 6-6 draw in a clash at the bottom against Liam Turnbull, with Turnbull taking out 2 legs in 21 darts.
Turnbull would also earn a massive 7-5 win over Jon McDowall to move off the bottom of the table, with 20 and 21 (x2) dart legs and a tremendous 108 checkout.
Scott Turnbull kept up his recent good form with yet another win, this time defeating Jake O’Brien 7-2 with 18 & 20 dart legs.
Checkout of the night went to newly engaged Andy Lincoln (congratulations from all players), taking out an excellent 123 finish in a 7-4 win over Neil Hardy.
