Going into the last week of the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker Summer League, a few results were needed to determine the final group standings.
In Group Two, second placed Steels beat group winners South Hylton A 3-1. The win sees Steels progress as runner ups in Group Two.
A 2-2 draw was enough to see Lumley B go through as the highest scoring percent ratio winners after they drew with Cheemas B.
Biddick B failed to get a victory that wouild see them progress into the next round when they lost 3-1 to Murton Colliery.
Group One winners South Hylton B defeated Seaham Conservatives 3-1, thanks to Graham Rutland and Adam Smith, who between them, claimed all frames.
A 3-1 win for Farringdon over Lumley A sees them finish second and progress into the knock-out stages.
An fine performance by The Victory saw them win 4-0 away to Pennywell Comrades A.
Group Three winners Green Baize travelled to runners-up Mill View B and could only muster a 2-2 draw.
Biddick A kept the pressure on Mill View all the way to the last game of the group stage with a good 3-1 win at home to Pennywell Comrades B.
The win sees Biddick A go through as the second highest scoring percent ratio winners.
Cheemas A and Railway played out an entertaining 2-2 draw.
The fixtures for the quarter-finals are as follows: Lumley B v Mill View B, South Hylton A v Farringdon, South Hylton B v Biddick A and Green Baize v Steels.
The matches are to be played as drawn, week commencing August 3, and can teams please forward the cards with details and results as soon as possible.
H Could members please be aware that the next monthly meeting is the AGM meeting and is on Thursday, August 6, at the Victory Club, starting 7.30pm.
All teams wanting to enter the Winter League must attend the meeting.
