STEELS and Town End Farm shared the points in a pulsating game in the D&P Trophies Sunderland league.

The home team had started out well winning very easily on the first rink. Going into the final two rinks, Town End Farm had to make up 13 shots to get any sort of result.

They won the second rink 9-6 and in the final rink won 6-4.

It was the first time that Town End Farm had played at this venue but they overcame their difficulties in the end.

Grindon came back from losing the first rink to win 6-2 at St Leonards.

In the end, it could have been a different result had the home side not capitalised on their advantage in the second rink - but a last wood from Grindon skip J.Sergant gave them four shots to claim the the rink and the points.

The third rink was all one way for Grindon.

Grangetown ran out comfortable 6-2 winners away to Mitchells, moving them up to the top half of the table.

Plains Farm were comfortable winners at home to Farringdon, winning 6-2, which still keeps them in the race for the title.

Hetton and Silksworth Comrades finished all square on the night 4-4.
