Steels thumped Lumley A 4-0 in the latest round of the Danby Autos Sunderland Snooker Summer League.

The Group One match saw Jimmy Gales winning the first frame against Paul Stoves on the final black 60-53 and Lee Norton claimed the second when he defeated Steven Rushworth 51-25.

Ray Charlton Jnr increased the lead before Ray Charlton Snr/Tom Ayre completed the whitewash with a 56-10 success over Steven Rushworth/Joe Nord in the pairs.

Darren Dowell got The Victory off to an excellent start at home to leaders Whitburn.

Tony Hazard levelled the match before Graeme Ablett had breaks of 27 and 38 to see him win the third frame.

In the pairs, a 35-break by Joseph Cromby wasn’t enough against Graeme Ablett.

An excellent comeback saw Ray James/John Butler pinch the frame 83-71 for a 2-2 draw.

Pennywell Comrades welcomed Murton Officials and got off to a good start, thanks to Joe Turner.

Manna Singh levelled the match and Robin Midson moved Murton into the lead.

In the pairs, Stuart Taylor/Ian McDermott forced a 2-2 draw when they beat Manna Singh/Bobby Carne.

In Group Two, South Hylton earned a 3-1 win over Biddick thanks to Adam Smith, Kevin Harrop and the Graham Rutland/Smith pairing. Rod Turnbull replied for Biddick.

The clash between Seaham Conservative and Lumley B was postponed and due to cancelling the game without due notice, Lumley B are to be fined and docked five points.

Ryan McKenna got Farringdon off to a good start away Murton Colliery, beating Stephen Cook 52-42, before Paul Brooke dominated the second frame 67-14.

In the third frame, Jackson Mason pulled one back for Murton, before teaming up with Stephen Clementson to win the pairs against Paul Brooke/David Agar 64-41, making the final score 2-2.

Farringdon have been fined and docked two points after not attending the latest AGM.
