Redpath on the war path

Have your say

JOHN Redpath is starting to show the form that gained him a place in last season’s Grand final with a superb 5-2 win over Phil Dunn.

Redpath hit a 180 and a fine 130 checkout while Dunn replied with two 20 dart legs.

Paul Williams and county team-mate Davey Thompson were involved in a thriller with Davey’s lacklustre finishing costing him at least a point as he went down 5-3.

Williams’ best legs were in 20, 21 and two 16-darters. Davey’s winning legs came in 17, 13 and 20 darts with both players hitting a maximum.

Martin Price produced his best performance of the season, but it wasn’t enough as Jimmy Ashett stormed to the top of the league with a 180 and winning legs in 16 and 15 darts. Price’s legs came in 17 darts with a 100 checkout.

Neil Richardson moved up a few places after a shock 5-1 win over Anth Skelton with Richardson’s best leg coming in 17 darts.

Ray Malarkey and Alan Smith couldn’t be separated with both players happy with a point in a 4-4 draw which included a maximum by Malarkey in a 19 darter.

Graham Mullen went through the motions with a comfortable 5-1 win over Anthony Gale.

Spiller Henderson moved up to eighth place with a fine 5-1 win against Barry Rutherford.

Eddie Ashman was pushed hard by newcomer John Squire, but still came out on top in a 5-2 win.

Neil Rose scraped another three points, this time with a 5-3 win against Steve Skinner.
