FORMER Durham County star Jimmy Ashett moved top of Seaham’s Knack Darts Premier League with two classy wins, making it five out of five for the season.
Ray Malarkey, despite having a fine 15-darter, was blown away by the heavy scoring of Ashett, who hit a 180 and 14 other scores of 100 or more to win 5-1.
John “Boy” Redpath managed just one leg against Ashett, who had three 18-darters.
Southwick’s Paul Williams again impressed, hammering defending champion Graham Mullen 5-1 with a 27.65 per dart average and best legs of 15, 16, 17 and 18, including a 180.
Kevin Guy had a sensational 13-darter as he overcame battling Neil Richardson 5-3. Richardson levelled from 3-1 down, but Guy impressively won the last two legs to remain joint second.
Davey Thompson outgunned Mark Robinson 5-2 with three 18-darters, plus 13 scores of 100+, while fifth-top Neil Rose beat Eddie Ashman 5-2 with legs in 19 and 21 (three times).
Barry Rutherford recorded his first win of the season, 5-2 against youngster Phil Dunn with legs in 20 and 21 (twice), while Anthony Gale climbed four places to 12th with an unexpected 5-1 win against Paul Gillibrand.
Martin Price remains bottom after a 5-2 loss to John Redpath, who won the last three legs, including a 111 checkout.
Anth Skelton remained unbeaten after a scrappy 5-2 win against Alan Smith.
