ANY bowler passing by the dismantled Crowtree Leisure Centre will witness a sad sight as the first glimpse of the bowls hall can be seen.
With over 300 of the indoor club members currently kicking their heels at not having a venue, club officials have another meeting with council officials on Thursday. The outcome of the meeting can be viewed on the club’s website.
H Sunderland & District held its AGM last weekend where Grindon Mill’s Alan Patterson was installed as the 2014 Association President.
Next season will see a change in league format as the Earl and Swan Cups will move to a three-league system with teams playing home and away.
The change should give more clubs a target to aim for rather than just going through the motions during the latter part of the season. The format of four rinks will remain in place.
Another change will see an end to the practice of players playing out of more than one club in the district’s competitions.
