Kevin Guy stops Steve Skinner in his tracks

Have your say

KEVIN Guy was once again in fine form as he denied Steve Skinner the three precious points that would have given him an almost unassailable lead in the race for a finals night place.

Guy ran out a 5-2 winner with best legs of 17, 18 and 20 darters, while Skinner replied with a 21 dart leg.

Neil Rose stayed top when he fought off a high scoring performance by Spiller Henderson to win 5-1.

Spiller opened the match with scores of 121 and 180 but struggled with his finishing as Rose took advantage with some quality out-shots and went on to win with legs of 17, 19 and 21 darts.

Paul Gillibrand moved into the top eight for the first time this season, after a tight 5-3 win over Neil Richardson.

Eddie Ashman fought back from 3-2 down to remain one point behind Rose when he came back to win 5-3.

Anth Skelton looked like he was at least going to get a point, after checking out on 144 to move 3-2 up, but he missed nine darts on a double to go 4-2 in front, only for Ashman to take advantage and win the next two legs.

Davey Thompson stays in fourth place after a comfortable 5-0 win against John Allan.

Graham Mullen was another non-mover as he stayed third with the nights second whitewash when he beat bottom of the table Phil Dunn.

Alan Smith hit three 20 darters on the way to a 5-2 win against John Redpath.

Alan stormed into a 4-0 lead and while John threatened a comeback by taking the next two legs, Alan wasn’t to be denied as he took the next leg to get the win.
