JIMMY Ashett’s 100 per cent record in the Seaham Knack Darts Premier League came to an end as Kevin Guy produced a tremendous performance to gain a 5-3 victory to remain unbeaten.
Guy started strongly, opening up with a fine 14-dart leg and a 17-darter to lead 2-0, however Ashett showed his class by taking the next in 12 darts, including two 180s. Guy began the next leg with a maximum of his own to go 3-1 ahead in 17 before seeing out the match in a 16-dart last leg to move up a place to second in the table.
Paul Williams was again in fine form as he defeated his Super League pairs partner Neil Rose 5-2. Williams opened up a two-leg lead before Rose battled back in 19 and 15 darts, including a 180, to level. Williams then reeled off three straight legs in 18, 21 and 20 darts to go top of the division.
Neil Richardson recorded a fantastic 170 finish against Graham Mullen, but it proved to be in vain as 15 scores of 100 or more in best legs of 15, 17, 18 and 19 darts, including a 116 finish, helped Mullen to a 5-2 win.
Anth Skelton showed no mercy to birthday boy Ray Malarkey as he hit two 180s and winning legs of 15, 17 and 19 (twice) in a 5-0 win, while Eddie Ashman also won 5-0, against Phil Dunn, with legs in 17, 18 and 20 darts.
Consistent Davey Thompson beat Alan Smith 5-1, featuring two brilliant 14-darters, to move up a place to fifth.
Martin Price picked up his first points of the season, overcoming Barry Rutherford 5-2 with a couple of 20-darters, while Spiller Henderson impressed again as he beat Anthony Gale 5-3, thanks to 12 scores of 100+ and best legs of 17, 20 and 21.
Paul Gillibrand let a 4-2 lead slip as Mark Robinson came back to snatch a 4-4 draw.
