Jack Richardson on song to lead Durham City to County Clubs Championship success

Durham City won the Durham County Clubs Championship by two shots at Dinsdale Spa on Saturday.

City posted a six-round total of 10-over par 442, led by two brilliant rounds from youngster Jack Richardson.

He carded 70 and 73 for a one-under par total of 143, leading team-mates Graeme Marchbank (73, 75) and Andrew Bell (76. 75) to overall victory.

Wynyard were runners-up on 12-over par 444, with Seaton Carew third (450), ahead of Brancepeth Castle on countback.

Richard Aisbitt carded 70 and 71 for a three-under par total of 143 to lead Brancepeth, backed by Hughie Hamilton (82, 71) and Guy Webster (81, 73).

Heworth finished fifth (452), with George Washington ninth on 467. Aaron Scott (79, 74), Imran Aziz (79, 77) and John Scott (76, 82) competed for Washington.

Ramside Hall were 11th on 476, courtesy of A.Stewart (76, 79), Robert Lister (75, 83) and J. Hellens (85.78), while Wearside had two competitors, with Stuart Nixon (76, 78) and Howard Walton (75, 79) both posting 10-over totals.
