Ryton won the Durham County Teams Handicap Competition on home territory, finishing champions by five shots.
Eighteen handicapper Richard Muldoon’s three under par 67 led the way as the host club ended on 211 in the three-to-count event, five better off than Eaglescliffe, with Crook in third (218) and Castle Eden fourth (219).
Washington were 12th on 229, thanks to P. Lyall (74), Thomas Milligan (75) and K. Jager (80), while Boldon ended 20th, courtesy of Simon Day (71), David Bingham (76) and David Tate (85).
Seaham posted 235 for 24th place, with best rounds from Adrian Partridge (77) and David Crumbie (78), while Houghton were 26th on the same 235 total, thanks to Neil Hogg (77), Ian Cassap (78) and G. Walton (80).
Whitburn were one shot back on 236 for 27th, with Les Beveridge’s 73 supported by Chris Colley (78) and Rod Jackson (85).
