BOTTOM-OF-THE-TABLE Hetton put Grindon to the sword with a great 22-13 win to reach the semi-finals of the Memorial Cup.
They lost the first rink 6-5, but Hetton skip M.Wilson responded with a 9-2 vitory – and the third rink was taken 8-5 to seal the win.
Town End Farm also reached the semis with a 27-15 win away to Farringdon.
This was achieved by a great team display from the first two rinks.

Pallion edged out Grangetown 22-13. They won the first rink 6-5 but in the second rink Pallion, skipped by F.Froud, piled the pressure on Grangetown by winning 10-2.
Grangetown won the last rink, but the damage had already been done.
In the ladies quarter-finals, L.McGahan (Grindon) eventually came out on top against M.Barker (SC) by winning 13-11.
