Hall defeats former champion among two victories in his best league display

Dougie Hall enjoyed his best night since joining the Red Dragon Knack Premier League with two fantastic wins.

Firstly, he hammered Ray Malarkey 5-0 with best legs of 18,19,20 and 21 darts, before a shock 5-2 win over former champion, Kevin Guy, aided by three 20 darters, with Guy replying in 17 and 20 darts.

Paul Clark continued where he left off last week, with three excellent wins which puts him in contention for a coveted top eight spot,

Neil Richardson was his first opponent, with 19,20 and 21 darters helping Clark to a 5-0 win, Clark was superb in his next game as he beat Rob McCluskey 5-1, with winning legs of 17,21,17,18 and 19 darts, while McCluskey had a tremendous 156 checkout in a 15-dart solitary leg,

Clark then had two 16-darters as he beat Malarkey 5-1 to move into ninth place.

Paul Williams moved back to the top after he also had three victories, with a 5-2 win over an impressive McCluskey with missed doubles costing him at least a draw,

Williams won in legs of 17,21,20,18 and 20 darts including 117 and 107 checkouts while McCluskey won in 19 and 16 darts,

Williams then had back to back 5-0 wins over Geordie Morton and Spiller Henderson, with two 180s and a superb 132 finish in winning legs of 15,18,18,14 and 19 darts against Morton, who also hit a 180 before 13,14,18,19 and 21-dart legs, including a third 180 against Henderson,

Morton was superb in his second game as he beat Eddie Ashman with a 180 and best legs of 17,20 (twice) and 21 darts with Ashman winning in 18 darts with a 106 finish.

Davey Thompson had two excellent 5-1 victories over John Scullion and Neil Mather, with 14,16,18 and three 20-darters in the process,

Scullion was a 5-0 winner over David Brown in his second game, while Mather beat Eddie Ashman 5-3 in his other game, with a 111 finish and best legs of 17,18 and 21 darts, while Ashman hit a 180 and a 110 finish in a best leg of 18 darts.

Neil Rose hit a 180, and had best legs of 16,20x2 and 21 darts, in a 5-2 win over third placed Kevin Elliott.

Next up, he shared the points with second-placed Dave Prins in a 4-4 draw.

Rose led 2-0 before Prins reeled off four straight legs, including a 180, but Rose took the next two for a draw,

Elliott trounced Barry Rutherford 5-0 in his second game, with 20 and two 21 darters his best. Prins was excellent in his first game as he beat Henderson 5-1 with his 40th 180 of the season and winning legs of 16,18,17,16 and 17 darts.

Kevin Guy was a 5-0 winner over Dan Gillibrand, while David Brown also beat Gillibrand 5-3. Barry Rutherford and Neil Richardson ended in a stalemate in the night’s other game.
