KEVIN Guy maintained top spot in the Seaham Knack Darts Premier League, producing another impressive performance to beat Barry Rutherford 5-1.
Rutherford won the first leg with a brilliant 150 checkout, but Guy, pictured, showed his class with five straight legs in 21, 24, 14,17 and 17 darts, including a maximum and a 100 out-shot.
Paul Williams hit 17 scores of 100 or more, including two maximums and a 113 finish, in a 5-2 win against Alan Smith.
Second-placed Jimmy Ashett was pushed all the way by Anthony Gale before an 18-dart last leg won it 5-3.
Eddie Ashman cruised home 5-0 against Ray Malarkey with an 18-darter his best effort, while Davey Thompson was another 5-0 winner against an out-of-sorts John Redpath, hitting 10 ton-plus scores.
Neil Richardson produced a fine comeback to grab a 4-4 draw against Mark Robinson, who led 4-1 with the help of his first 180 of the season. Richardson won the last three legs, including a 17 darter in the last.
Anth “Banjo” Skelton and Steve Skinner also shared the points in a hard-fought game, with Skelton dropping out of the top eight despite a 180 and 13 scores of 100 or more.
Graham Mullen denied Phil Dunn a third straight victory with a comprehensive 5-0 win, with a 15-darter stealing the show.
Spiller Henderson’s impressive season continued with a fine 5-2 win against Paul Gillibrand, featuring a 19-darter and two legs in 20.
Neil Rose returned from holiday and scraped 4 points from his two games, rallying from 3-0 down to grab an undeserved draw with Martin Price, then surviving a stirring fightback from 4-0 by Gillibrand to edge home 5-3.
