Grindon clinch Sunderland League title in championship decider

GRINDON cruised to the Sunderland League title again, with a comfortable 6-2 win over Town End Farm in the championship decider.

Grindon commanded the first two rinks, winning them 12-1 and 12-4. Farm fought hard in the third, taking it 8-5, but Grindon sealed overall success.

Plains Farm comfortably saw off Farringdon 7-1 to secure third place.

Hetton won the first rink of the Memorial Trophy Final 7-3, but Pallion battled back well to lift the silverware.

They won the second 7-6 before M. Wilson fell short on the last bowl of the final end to give Pallion a 21-16 victory.
