HOUGHTON CC will be promoting the Houghton Feast Trophy Race at Hetton Lyons Country Park on Sunday.

The North East Regional Youth League races, for children under eight to under 16 years, starts at 10.30am.

The main event is the race for second, third and fourth category riders, beginning at12.30pm.

The winner will be presented with the Houghton Feast Trophy.

Entries can be made until Friday via the British Cycling website www.britishcycling.org.uk, or at the event itself.

H Houghton CC’S Mark Harrison finished a respectable fourth in Ferryhill Wheelers’ two-stage hill climb.

The winner was Luke Mullen, of Hetton Hawks, who finished almost 21 seconds clear of his closest rival, Shaun Tyson. Mullen is showing great potential this year.

H The fourth round of the Cyclo Cross North East was held at Temple Park, South Shields, and saw three Houghton CC riders compete.

David Stevens finished 16th out of 54 seniors, with Paul Whitehill 28th and Paul Robson 50th out of 74 veterans.
