STEVE Dykes clinched the Thorney Close Premier Darts title after edging out Ian Jarvis 11-9 in a thriller.

The final was a very tight affair going all the way in dramatic style, but it was Dykes who kept his nerve to win the title for the second year running.

Dykes’ best legs came in 15, 16, 18, 20 (twice) and 21 darts and included a great finish of 141 plus a 180 maximum.

Jarvis’s winning legs came in 16, 18, 20 (twice), 21 (twice)darts, plus a 134 checkout.

Dykes had earler beaten Steve Richardson 7-3 with Richardson missing a 170 to level the match at 4-4.

Sue Edwards led Vince Lorraine all through their game, only to lose the final leg.

Lorraine’s best legs were 18, 20 and 21-darters (three times), while Edwards won her legs in 18 and 20 darts (twice), and also included two 180s.

Ian Jarvis stormed into a 5-1 lead against Jack Revely, who responded to take the next four legs to level at 5-5.

However, Jarvis stood tall and took the next two legs to win 7-5.

Barry Walker beat Craig Ryan 7-2 with Walker enjoying winning legs of 17, 18, 20 and 21 (twice) darts.

Dykes also beat Vince Lorraine 9-3 as he hit winning legs in 15, 17, 18, 19 and 20 dart legs, plus two great check-outs of 130 and 118, as well as two 180s.

Ian Jarvis beat Walker 9-5. Jarvis’ best legs were in 16 (twice), 18 (three times) and 19 darts (three times).

In the Division One play-off, Tony Cummings kept his Premier League status after beating Darren Noble 5-2. Cummings enjoying winning legs of 19 and 21 darts. Noble’s two leg wins were both 21-darters.

Earlier, Cummings beat D.Cullen 5-0.

Darren Noble beat Anth Cummings 5-3.
