Durham City third as South Moor claim Durham County Clubs Championship title on home soil

South Moor won the Durham County Clubs Championship, using home course knowledge to take the trophy by two shots.

Ian McEntee’s rounds of 74 and 72, for a two-over-par total, led the way as South Moor scored 450 (18 over par), backed by Chris Handy (75, 76) and Michael Watts (78, 75).

Consett were just behind on 452 (20 over par), led by Mark Bonser (74, 72), with Durham City third, a further five adrift.

Jack Richardson carded rounds of 71 and 72 to lead Durham, backed by Alex Robinson (77, 77) and Graeme Marchbank (82, 78).

Brancepeth Castle finished in seventh place (481), with Whitburn 10th on 508 shots, thanks to Andrew McConnell (79, 87), Richard Barrow (80, 86) and Anthony Jaggers (88, 88).
