TRAMPOLINIST Kat Driscoll is jumping for joy after her Olympic spot was finally confirmed by Team GB today.
West Rainton-based tunbler Driscoll effectively sealed her spot at the Olympics last month when she triumphed at the British trials in Liverpool.
But the 26-year-old has had to wait patiently for her place to be made official by British Gymnastics, with the announcement finally made this afternoon.
The British number one, among 18 gymnasts selected by Team GB, will now bid to become Britain’s first ever medallist in trampolining.
Driscoll, who trains at Washington Leisure Centre, said today: “This is my first games so I don’t know really know what to expect.
“But I’ve trained really and I’m really happy to be representing Team GB.”
