Sunderland bowls star David Bolt has won a bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games.
As part of the English fours team, Silksworth’s Bolt helped secure the medal success with victory over Wales in the third-place play-off clash.
England’s quartet - Louis Ridout, David Bolt, Jamie Chestney and Sam Tolchard - collected a decisive five on the eighth end to open up a 9-5 lead and in the end that proved the difference as they held on to a 15-9 win.
The gold went to Scotland’s Alex Marshall who collected a last-end four to beat the hosts Australia 15-13. Marshall is now Scotland’s most decorated Commonwealth Games competitor.
