Darts legends await some of Wearside’s best

WEARSIDE’S best darts players are still in with a chance to pit their wits against two legendary world champions.

The Riley’s Legend Challenge has seen players from across Tyne and Wear challenging for the right to compete in a tournament with former world champions Eric Bristow and Keith Deller at the John Street club.

In total, one player will qualify each Wednesday night for another nine weeks, with 14 winners overall joining “The Crafty Cockney” and “Del Boy” in the last 16 on finals night.

The competiton starts each Wednesday night at 7pm. Anyone is eligible to enter, members or non members, for £3.

Qualifiers so far have included Andy King (Sunderland), Paul McGowan (Felling), Chris Bolam (South Shields), Paul Williams (Sunderland), Billy Todd (Jarrow) and Gary Dunn (South Tyneside).
