Chris Jarvis loses ground in darts play-off quest

PLAY-OFF hopeful Chris Jarvis lost ground in the Thorney Close Darts League, Premier Division, by losing out to Bobby Turnbull 5-2, despite taking solid legs in 21 and 20 darts.

However, Turnbull got over the finish line to earn crucial points in his quest to stave off relegation with a leg in 21 darts and a 180.

Jarvis later turned the tide by defeating Alan Garden by the same scoreline. Garden impressed but only for Jarvis to hit back with a 17 darter of his own, followed by a superb leg in 14 darts.

Walter Scottt held Andy Lincoln. Scott’s highlight was a 20 darter with Lincoln winning legs in 18 and 20 darts.

Alan Slight kept up a good season with a 5-2 win over Mick Watson. Watson’s best leg was a 21 darter with Slight taking a trio of steady legs in the victory.

Marco Laybourn maintained his impressive form with a 5-0 win over Tony Richardson. Laybourn took legs in 18 and 20 darts along the way.

Sue Edwards all but secured a final’s night spot with a 5-2 win over Alan Garden. Edwards best leg came by the way of a 20 darter.

In the First Division Champion-elect Lee Rump showed the standard of darts needed for an assault on the Premier League next season with a 5-1 win over fellow promotion hopeful Steve Carr.

Mick Brown continued his recent good run of form with a 5-0 win against Tony Bryant.

Darren Johnston beat Dawn Evans by the same score aided by two cool finishes of 74 and 76.

Jack Revely continued his promotion push by beating Colin Richardson, who himself has his eyes on the Premier League.

Adam Lafferty took a 5-1 win against fellow play-off contender Anth Devine.

Gary Richardson was held to a 4-4 draw with Dan Scott, despite hitting a 180 earlier in the match.

George Slight also notched a 180 in defeating luckless Jamie Scott.
