Bolam fights back to deny Jarvis win

IAN Jarvis just missed out inflicting the first defeat of the season on Chris Bolam in the Thorney Close Darts Premier Division.

Second top Jarvis stormed in to a 4-2 lead, but unbeaten leader Bolam won the next two legs to force a draw. Jarvis had 17, 18, 20 and 21-darters, plus a 180, while Bolam hit 17, 18 and 20-darters.

Bolam had no such problems against Micky Watson, winning 5-0 with legs in 18, 19 and 21 darts.

Andy Lincoln drew with Walter Scott, who had a 17-darter and a 180, while Marco Laybourn beat Tes Charlesworth 5-2 with legs in 17, 18 and 20 darts. Charlesworth also had two 20 legs.

Steve Richardson beat Micky Callan 5-3 in a very close match. Richardson’s best was a 20-darter, while Callan had a 15-darter with a 116 outshot.

Alan Slight beat Jack Revely 5-2, with help from an 18-darter with a 115 outshot.

Vince Lorraine beat Tes Charlesworth 5-2 and Alan Slight beat Micky Callan 5-3.

In the first division, Adam Lafferty stayed top after a 5-2 win over Dan Scott, while Jason Allan continued his climb up the table with a 5-2 win over Danny Cullen.

Luckless Tony Bryant lost again, this time 5-0 to Denny Cullen, while Darren Johnston got back to winning ways in a very tight game, beating Alan Garden 5-3. Johnston hit two 21-darters, while Garden hit an 18-darter and a 180.

Dan Scott drew with Shaun Turnbull, both hitting 20-dart legs, while Gary Richardson beat Jordan Cook 5-3 in yet another close match.

Alan Grimms drew with Anth Devine, and Neil Hardy beat Jamie Scott 5-1 with 20 and 21-darters plus a 180 and 96 finish, while Scott had 74 checkout on the bull,
