Along with the 11-darter, Anth hit two 180s and 16 darts (twice) to see him move up to fifth.
Paul Gillibrand drew 4-4 with last year’s champion Graham Mullen.
In a game that produced 31 scores of a 100 or more, including a maximum by Gillibrand, Mullen won legs in 16 (twice) 19 and 20 darts, while Paul scored 18, 19 and 20-darters.
Anthony Gale hit three 180s and still found himself 3-1 behind against Mark Robinson, before storming back in 16, 18 and 21 darts to salvage a draw.
Jimmy Ashett remains top with his 100 per cent record intact after a 5-1 win against Barry Rutherford, which included a 180 and winning legs in 15, 20 and three 21-darters.
Eddie Ashman whitewashed Neil Richardson 5-0, with two legs in 18 and 20, plus a 21-darter.
Kevin Guy had a comfortable 5-2 win against Spiller Henderson, with 15, 19 and 21-dart legs the highlights.
Later on, Spiller managed to get three points in a catch-up game against Steve Skinner.
Davey Thompson cruised to victory against an out-of-sorts Neil Rose, with the help of 13 scores of 100-plus to record a fine 5-2 win.
Paul Williams made it five wins from six when he beat bottom-placed Martin Price 5-1.
Ray Malarkey had a fine draw against Ryhope’s John “Boy” Redpath, with both players hitting 19-darters and Steve Skinner beat Alan Smith 5-2 in his second game of the night, with Skinner hitting two 180s.
