Anth Skelton put a poor Red Dragon Knack Premier League season behind him with a superb victory over reigning champion Paul Williams.

Skelton inflicted only a second defeat of the season on Williams when he held his nerve in a 5-3 victory, with legs in 18 and 19 darts, plus three 20-darters, while Williams won in 16 darts twice.

Skelton then let slip a 4-2 lead over Eddie Ashman when a determined Ashman rallied to win the last two legs to ensure a share of the points.

Williams and Ashman were both 5-0 winners in their other games, against David Brown and Barry Rutherford respectively.

Spiller Henderson recovered from a 5-1 defeat against Geordie Morton in his first game to produce two excellent performances as he whitewashed Neil Richardson and hammered Davey Thompson 5-1.

Morton beat Neil Rose 5-2 in his second game.

Thompson was a 5-0 winner over Ray Malarkey, while Richardson was beaten by the same scoreline in his first game against Dougie Hall.

Leader Dave Prins was superb once again as he enjoyed two wins over David Brown (5-0) and Dan Gillibrand 5-1.

Kevin Elliott was a 5-0 victor over Gillibrand before beating Hall 5-1.

Kevin Guy enjoyed two fine wins over Rob McCluskey (5-2) and Rutherford (5-1).

Lee Walton hit a 180 and a best leg of 16 in a 5-2 win over John Allan.

Walton also secured a 5-3 success over McCluskey.

In his other game, Walton came up against an inspired Paul Clark, who ran out a convincing 5-1 winner.

Clark rallied from 4-1 down in his first game to sneak a point against John Scullion.

Scullion was then a comfortable 5-1 winner against John Allan. Allan then hit an 18-darter as he beat Malarkey 5-1 in his third game.

Neil Mather and Neil Rose could not be separated in a tight 4-4 draw.

Mather then hit a brilliant 158 checkout in a 5-3 win over Barry Rutherford, with best legs of 15, 18 and 21 darts.
