MMA Total Combat will be staged at the Stadium of Light next month.

Britain’s longest running Mixed Martial Arts show will go ahead on Saturday, July 21.

A purpose-built stage will be built next to the West Stand, with more than 3,000 seats available for fans.

So far, 18 bouts have been set up, including a four-man welterweight NSAC European title challenge with £500 to the winner.

Liam Dunn, Jamie Jones, Mikey Hogarth and Stuart Wison are competing for this title.

Local fighters taking part include Gareth Jackson, Lewis Garside, Robbie Anderson, Peter Barraclough, Justin Dee and Declan Robson.

Other contests include Gary Sivills from Middlesbrough against Mark Jones, and Michael Holmes v Steven Fenwick.

Organisers are also bringing over two fighters from Germany to take part.

Tickets are £30, giving access to the Concourse bar for food and refreshments.

For an extra £5 there are tickets in Quinn’s Sports Bar, while seats in an executive box – including a buffet before the show, snacks afterwards and drinks available from the waitress bar service – cost £60.
