Women’s Football: Sunderland Ladies away in FA Cup

Have your say

SUNDERLAND Women travel to Derby County tomorrow in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

The Lady Black Cats, who lost to Arsenal in the 2009 FA Cup final, are leading the Premier Division and are looking to make progress to the fifth round when the FA Women’s Super League teams enter the competition.

Derby play in the Northern Division, one level below Sunderland, and are in second place. There should be no complacency in the Sunderland ranks, though, after being knocked out of the League Cup last month by Southern Division side Portsmouth.

Sunderland did get revenge over Pompey, by beating them 7-2 at home in the third round of the FA Cup.

Centre-forward Natalie Gutteridge is ruled out tomorrow with a foot injury.
