Women’s Football: Lincoln the prospect for Sunderland

Have your say

SUNDERLAND Women have been handed a home draw against Super League side Lincoln in the fifth round of the FA Cup – if they can see off Derby County.

National Division leaders Sunderland’s fourth-round tie at Derby on Sunday was postponed because of a waterlogged pitch and will now be played this Sunday.

If they come through that, they will entertain Lincoln at Eppleton CW the Sunday after.

Sunderland reached the final in 2009, losing 2-1 to Arsenal at Derby’s Pride Park. This year’s final will be played on Saturday, May 21, at Coventry’s Ricoh Arena.

It won’t be a repeat of last year’s final as holders Everton will meet last year’s beaten finalists Arsenal in the fifth round.

There is a second all-FA WSL encounter as Chelsea take on Doncaster Rovers Belles.
