West End sunk by Cumbrians

Have your say

SUNDERLAND West End’s 11-match-winning sequence in the Wearside League was ended when Cleator Moor Celtic won by the odd goal in five at Silksworth last night.

Greg Stainton’s 10th-minute header gave the Cumbrians the lead and after Stephen Bogie equalised on the half hour, Celtic regained the lead with Craig Bradley’s 44th-minute strike.

Bradley then made it three and the game was into the last minute before Jamie Fryett reduced the deficit to a single goal.

Ryhope CW’s derby against Ashbrooke Belford House was called off just before kick-off because of a floodlight failure.
