Tomorrow, the Colliers visit Harton and Westoe CW in the preliminary round of the Wearside League Cup, looking to avenge last week’s 2-1 home league defeat to the South Tynesiders.

Harton line up Shaun Reay, a vastly-experienced Northern League player who has come in from Hebburn Town.

Also named is Andy Hall, but defender Darren Wann and midfielder Kyle Houshby are unavailable because of work commitments.

Leam Rangers will be hoping to make home advantage count against Annfield Plain, but defender Leon Kane is a major doubt after having to be substituted last Saturday.

Liam Young, though, is pencilled in by the Hilltop club after recovering from an ankle injury sustained in Sunday football.

After suffering a heavy defeat in their previous game, third-top Hartlepool should nevertheless be too strong for second-bottom Wolviston, especially as they have Ash Turnbull, Craig Weatherill, Rob Hammond and Kieran Mitchell in their squad.

Wolviston boss Steve Cook will blood Liam Ferguson, who steps up from the youth side.

He is hopeful that stalwart skipper Shaun Gregory will have recovered from a knee injury which has kept him out for six weeks.

Jarrow face a difficult first round tie at Stockton Town, who are still on course to replicate last season’s magnificent achievement when they won the championship and the three domestic cups.

Stockton boss Michael Dunwell names a 22-man squad, which includes fit-again James Crossman. Although Michael Arthur is back in training, it’s too early for him to make a comeback.

In the remaining tie, Richmond Town have doubts surrounding strikers Mark Simm and Sam Joyce, but Michael Elliott and Lee White come into the frame against Prudhoe Town.

Prudhoe are forced to go without Thomas Wanless and Ryan Chambers, but chairman Chris Lowther is hopeful that Kevin Moreland will be able to make the journey into North Yorkshire.
