The Nissan Sports Complex club currently sit just below mid-table after winning three of their opening 10 games of the campaign.

But a hat-trick from striker Harry Wood secured a historic first win at Gateshead Leam Rangers in mid-October and the former Chester-le-Street Town striker also found the net in wins against West Auckland Tunns and Coxhoe Athletic.

After signing off for the four-week lockdown with a 4-1 defeat at Farringdon Detached on Wednesday, Hannah stressed that his side must improve when they return.

He told The Echo: “As a club, we were unsure what to expect going into the new season and I think that was reflected in some of our early performances and results.

“We have since settled into the league and the lads are starting to gel.

“The points total we have is respectable, but it’s not where we want to be at the end of the season, and I am confident that we can keep improving and putting in good performances.

“Our aim is to come out of the break having improved.

“Some of the lads are carrying knocks at the moment, it will be good for them to have a rest and we can also go through the footage of the previous games.

“So we will use the four-week break to our advantage.”

United are scheduled to return to action with a Durham Trophy tie against Darlington RA on Saturday 5th December.
